Thenmaradchi Vizha – UK – July 1, 2017 (photos attached)

TDA proudly organised “Thenmaradchi Vizha – UK” on Saturday, 1st July 2017 second year in a row in aid of Thenmaradchi Education Fund (TEF).
Dr K. Kathirgamanathan was the chief guest for the event and he reminded everyone of the proud Thenmaradchi culture and the people that Thenmaradchi has managed to produce-who are now contributing all over the world in his speech. The TDA France Secretary Mrs. Mantaginy Packiarajah and the TDA Norway Secretary Mr Devan Ambalavaanar attended the event and spoke about how a global TDA can make a difference in Thenmaradchi. The TDA UK President Dr Puvinathan explained the achievements of TDA over the last one year and how the TDA is planning to contribute in Thenmaradchi. He also called for active support from the Thenmaradchi diaspora to improve the education, health and employment opportunities in Thenmaradchi.
TDA recognized seven people in three categories.

TDA honourary award to recognise their contribution to Thenmaradchi is awarded to:

  • Mrs Amirtha Thangarajah
  • Mr Vellupilai Thangarajah,
  • Mr Sinnathamby Navaratnam

Proud of Thenmaradchi award to recognise their public services or professional excellence and making Thenmaradchi proud, given to:

  • Councillor Eliza Mann
  • Professor Kopan Mahadeva

Young Thenmaradchi award to recognise emerging talents from Thenmaradchi who are excelling in their profession, public services or entrepreneurship, and contributing to Thenmaradchi is awarded to:

  • Miss Mahee Krishnamoorthy
  • Mr Ganesh Thangarajah

A range of traditional dance and music from Dreiberg college, Kodikamam Central college, Hindu college, Kaithady Development Union and Thenmarachi students was performed throughout the evening. The event was well attended and many compliments were received.
